Chris Butler is a junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is a native of the small town of Tyngsborough, Massachusetts and developed an interest in business starting in high school while working as a cashier at a small pet shop. While working as a cashier he saw the mistakes that the manger of the store was making and that there was a lot more to running a business then sales. Chris is an accounting major at the Isenberg School of Management and is currently pursuing a career in public accounting. Chris knew he had a talent in accounting because he enjoyed math and problem solving in high school. He exceled at the introduction level courses for accounting and began to pursue a major. He gained experience in a profesional environment by interning at Kelmar Associates this past summer. He learned how to work in teams, meet deadlines and gained great experience working in excel. Public accounting is of interest to Chris because it will allow him to gain a CPA and give him insight into the many different industries that are audited by public accountants. At some point in his life he hopes to own his own business and apply the experience he gained in public accounting to help his business succeed.
