• Erik Nelson Dramatizes the true story of John Newton, who was once known as the “Great Blasphemer” when impressed into the British Navy and thrust into slavery in West Africa. His life was changed, however, when God answered his prayer in desperation during a storm at sea in 1748. After working as a slave trader himself, John through God’s grace became a minister, a spokesperson for abolition, and a prolific hymn writer, composing the well-known and beloved hymn “Amazing Grace.”
