Most people prefer to snooze in on a Saturday morning. I, for one, love to sleep in too! Although that’s my typical weekend routine, I’ve always wanted to go on an adventure. Perhaps I should hike up some mysterious mountain. Or, should I wake up in the middle of the night drive off to some unknown destination? When I decide what I want to do, I should remember to take my camera with me and photograph my journey!

One of my goals this year is to begin doing landscape and astrophotography. From the names themselves, they may not mean much. However, lots of preparation must be done before hand to succeed in photographing landscapes and the stars! This means scouting a location beforehand and camping hours beforehand to get an amazing fiery sky or beautiful night sky. In particular, I want to experience what many photographers have experienced with their eyes, the beauty and vast stars of the Milky Way. Photographing the Milky Way is just one form of expressing myself. Photography allows me to capture a memory through an image, and in that image, my thoughts and feelings are expressed at that time and place.
