I grew up in Hartford, CT and moved to Rocky Hill where I attended Rocky Hill High School and graduated 2004. During my four years at Rocky Hill High School, I discovered my hidden talent while taking art classes with Sandy Guze and Kim Jenkins. I remembered the day Ms. Guze commented on a drawing of mine and encouraged me to better myself as an artist by taking fall courses at the University of Hartford. At the University, I took figure drawing and noticed and drastic change in my ability to draw people and decided to display that by drawing for the High School Newspaper, "The Broadside." Tammy Devine, a Journalism teacher at the time and in charge of the newspaper, entered my Editorial Illustrations into the Hartford Courant's Scholastic Journalism Contest where I won 2nd place in May 2003. I knew at that moment, that I wanted to excel in an Art career.

After graduating high school, I attended Paier College of Art, Incorporated, located in Hamden, CT and graduated 2008, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Illustration. I had works displayed several times in Art Space and City-Wide Studios in 2007. I also recieved a 2nd place award in Illustration at Paier College of Art Fall Show in 2007.

When I was about to graduate from Paier, I decided to become a teacher and attend Graduate School at Southern Connecticut State University for my certification in Art Education K-12. Before graduating 2010, I collaborated with peers and created a mural painting to enhance the work environment for the mentors and children at SCSU Children's Literacy Lab. I also took several Ceramic and Pottery classes to expand my experience in a variety of mediums.

I have been working at Rocky Hill High School as an Art Teacher since 2011. I specialize in Ceramics, Crafts, and Sculpture. In my spare time I love to use watercolor and enjoy creating portraits of people and animals on scratch board, which involves scratching away black on a flat panel to reveal white. I have also been published in iTowns on The Hartford Courant, with a self portrait called, "Man in the Box."

I am glad to be a part of Rocky Hill High School. It is a pleasure to be working with teachers that have influenced me and nothing is more rewarding than to know you have influenced a child.
