Hi! How are you today?

My name is Samuel, and this little bio is to tell you about my passion for horror cinema, and the critical analysis thereof. One of my undergraduate Majors was Creative Writing, and I am employing these skills, along with analytical practice, to develop a review blog on horror films that fit into the following categories:

* cult

* B-grade

* Z-grade

* little-known

* general piles of utter garbage

The reviews maintain a chronological focus on productions of the 1980s and 1990s.

Applying a critical lens to the content of the reviews, I hope to tease out issues of representation that appear on screen - specifically issues related to race, gender, sexuality, and class. This project is designed to provide a somewhat academic spin on film reviews for the socially conscious consumer and anybody who identifies as a minority in the society in which they live.

I am a multi-ethnic immigrant to Australia (born in NZ), born of immigrants to New Zealand. I have lived in several countries around the world, and the migrant experience is well ingrained in me. I received my Australian citizenship in 1992 and have considered myself an Aussie ever since.

I love gaming, teaching political ideology and history, landscape design and construction, gardening, caring for animals, and pizza. I walk dogs on Fridays, play Dungeons & Dragons twice a week, and am a complete night owl, up watching movies and gaming until the small hours of the morning...
