Burt Lum is Executive Director of Hawaii Open Data, a non-profit dedicated to advancing the principles of open knowledge in Hawaii, including policy work and community collaborations. He has more than 30 years in Hawaii's technology and communications sector. His online activities include social media, community building and citizen journalism. Burt produces and co-hosts a weekly science and technology show for the past 7 years on Hawaii Public Radio (NPR Affiliate) called Bytemarks Cafe. For the last 8 years planned and coordinated an annual grassroots technology event called the Unconferenz. He also blogs at Bytemarks.org and is the co-Captain of Code for Hawaii, a Code for America Brigade.
