Ben Zion Citrin has been in the communication field for 30 years. The latest office he held was that of editor of "Mabat" – the first channel newscast. Mr. Citrin started his career in journalism in 1981 as a staff member on the "Haolam Haze" magazine. He worked for 5 years on the financial daily paper "Globes" followed by 10 years in "Haaretz".
Mr. Citrin has always combined journalism with lectures, editing and publishing of professional business literature and press.
In 2005 Mr. Citrin, with the Citrin group of communication moved on to a different kind of activity: he is now a strategic-communicational adviser to a long and well respected line of clients from the business community – firms, lawyers and accountants, while continuing his vocations as publisher of professional literature (the Citrin Guides) and editor-in-chief of the "Mishkeihon" financial magazine.
The crowning glory of Citrin's journalistic work is a legal precedent from 1987 regarding journalistic immunity (the Citrin Rule). The president of the Supreme Court at the time – the honorable Meir Shamgar, accepted Citrin's appeal and set a precedent in the Israeli judicial system according to which journalists are allowed to protect the confidentiality of their sources and enjoy immunity in their work.
