Carlos Cordova is a banking executive, community leader, and scholar whose journey reflects perseverance, purpose, and a commitment to creating opportunities for others. He began his international academic journey at seventeen in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where he developed the global perspective that continues to shape his leadership philosophy and dedication to lifelong learning. After moving to the United States, Carlos built a new chapter through hard work, resilience, and a desire to help individuals, families, and businesses succeed.

Today, Carlos serves as a Senior Vice President and Branch Manager at Citizens Bank. In this role, he leads branch operations with a strong focus on relationship management, business development, regulatory compliance, risk oversight, operational excellence, employee development, and community engagement. His professional experience includes progressive leadership roles throughout the banking industry, where he has developed expertise in consumer and business banking, sales strategy, talent development, customer experience, fraud prevention, and regulatory standards.

Known for his people-first leadership style, Carlos is passionate about mentoring colleagues, building high-performing teams, and helping clients make informed financial decisions. He combines operational discipline with empathy and a strong understanding of the communities he serves. His goal is to create an environment where employees feel supported, clients feel valued, and local businesses have access to the financial guidance and resources they need to grow.

Carlos proudly serves as a Trustee for the Lawrenceville Township Community Foundation. In this role, he supports charitable initiatives, educational programs, cultural enrichment, youth development, financial literacy, and community outreach efforts that improve the quality of life for local residents and families. His community involvement reflects his belief that leadership is measured not only by professional success, but also by the positive impact a person makes in the lives of others.

Carlos earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement from Mercer County Community College before continuing his education at Rowan University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice. He graduated cum laude, received recognition as a 2026 Senior of Distinction, and earned placement on the Dean’s List.

He later earned a Master in Legal studies with immigration law concentration from Regent University, completing graduate coursework in constitutional law, regulatory compliance, legal policy, contracts, criminal law, dispute resolution, and international human rights. His graduate education strengthened his understanding of the legal and regulatory systems that affect individuals, businesses, and financial institutions. It also prepared him for his long-term goal of attending law school and becoming an attorney, with a particular interest in immigration law and client advocacy.

Committed to continuous professional development, Carlos has completed studies and certifications in cybersecurity through Harvard University, accounting and financial management through Cornell University, and international law and human resources through the International Business Management Institute in Berlin. His additional credentials include studies in administrative law, loss prevention, leadership development, home lending, small-business advocacy, and women’s business advocacy. He is also a commissioned New Jersey Notary Public and has earned a Medallion Signature Guarantee certification.

As a first-generation college graduate and devoted father, Carlos takes great pride in balancing family, education, executive leadership, and community service. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Russian, he values diversity, inclusion, and cultural connection.
