Corrine Gowers
is a Disability Specialist presently working as the Provincial Coordinator for WORKink Alberta and has worked with persons with disabilities for over 20 years. Corrine has provided disability awareness training to professionals, para-professionals, employers and employees; across community, residential, education and employment environments. Corrine has worked as a Program Coordinator for various employment programs such as: The Bridging Program (an Alberta Government AISH Pilot) and the Customer Service Skills Training Programs for EmployAbilities. In addition she has worked as an Employment Facilitator, Employment Coach, Community Liaison and a Job Developer. In her role as a trainer and facilitator she continues to build awareness around accommodations, resource availabilities and community supports. Through her sessions she advocates the skills and abilities of individuals with a disability; highlighting the benefits of hiring for ability and decreasing employee shortages. She welcomes questions as to how she, WORKink Alberta and EmployAbilities can meet the employment needs of job seekers, employers looking to hire or support employees with disabilities or medical conditions; along with Career Practitioner who assist job seeker in obtaining employment.
