Chris Nielsen

I am a teacher currently living in Ballarat, Australia.

My background as a secondary science teacher has led me to develop my practice within the areas of:

· science education

· integrating literacy instruction

· STEM

· environmental education

Underpinning my teaching is my belief that one of the purposes of education is to develop responsible, thoughtful and ethical citizens of the world.

I hope to extend my knowledge as a PhD candidate at Deakin University, where I am conducting research which will contribute to a longitudinal study on teaching science and mathematics in primary schools.

In my down time, my interests range from music to hiking. I am also interested in causes.
