The Cabidor is the flagship product of, Hingenuity, Inc., a company formed by family members Mike, Tim, and Chris Tassin. As co-inventors of the Cabidor, Mike, Tim, and Chris are passionate about offering innovative, convenient storage solutions that their customers will LOVE, and won’t stop until Cabidor back of door storage cabinets are a household name!

The Cabidor has its origins in 2007 in a remote Colorado cabin where brothers Mike and Tim Tassin had gone to get some much needed rest and relaxation. One night during their vacation their conversation drifted to a problem Mike had experienced using various over-the-door storage products on the market. He disliked how they damaged his door, left his items in plain view, and lacked the storage space he needed. There had to be a better solution for behind the door storage….

The result of Mike and Tim’s Rocky Mountain brainstorming session produced the initial concept that has evolved in to what is now the Cabidor. As luck would have it, Tim’s son Chris had just begun pursuing a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship at the University of Florida. Upon their return, Tim and Mike approached Chris about the idea and together they began a multi-year journey where they took an idea and turned it in to a commercially viable product.

Mike, Tim, and Chris spent countless nights and weekends outside of their day jobs over the next several years pursuing their as yet unrealized dream, constantly refining the design of their new behind the door storage closet idea. Tim utilized the knowledge he had developed during his career as a contractor and carpenter to create the first working prototypes of the Cabidor. The extended Tassin family then became a test bed for the various prototypes created by the Hingenuity team. Satisfied with the viability of their product, they filed for a patent.

The patent for the Cabidor was issued on Valentine’s Day 2012, and the founders of Hingenuity, Inc. began to exhibit their new product in the inventor’s area of several national tradeshows. The Cabidor took first place in every new product category in which it was entered, and commercial interest began to grow at an accelerated rate. Since then the Cabidor has been featured multiple times on national television, and is being sold throughout the United States through various online, print, and television media outlets.
