Liz Casanova

Dallas, TX

Liz has a cool last name. But she is more than that. Liz knew she wanted to be a writer at the age of seven when she declared that revelation to her parents at the dinner table. But it wasn’t until junior high that she discovered her passion for journalism. Her first interview was the wily sixth grade English teacher, Mr. Burnett.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. She did so well, her peers selected her editor-in-chief of the university’s student newspaper. She graduated in 2002 and over a decade later, decided to go back to school to obtain her Masters in New Journalism from Full Sail University.

Liz has already established herself in the North Texas film community. She created and published movie reviews and interviews on her site PulpLizard Media. She has had the opportunity to interview all kinds of talent in the film and entertainment industry. This year, she launched a site that focuses on foreign and foreign-language films called Café Con Cine. Her goal is to introduce these films to an English-speaking audience. Her work can also be found on Vimeo and Youtube.

Liz is also a photographer and has worked in the film industry. She was a set photographer, location scout, and script supervisor for various short films.

Her dream is to write for a publication like Indiewire or Movie Magazine. She hopes that her persistence and hard work will grab the attention of the editors she admires.
