Çağdaş SAĞIR
Researcher in Ankara, Türkiye
Dr. Çağdaş Sağır is a hydrogeologist and remote sensing specialist with over a decade of international academic and professional experience in groundwater modeling, environmental monitoring, and geospatial technologies. He holds a PhD in Geological Engineering from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (Türkiye), where he focused on karst hydrogeology using geophysical modeling and thermal remote sensing. He also completed a joint MSc program in hydrogeology at the University of Poitiers (France) and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (Türkiye).
Dr. Sağır has contributed to numerous high-impact international research projects, including EU-funded initiatives and TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye)-supported studies, tackling complex environmental and hydrological challenges in Türkiye, France, and the Gulf region. His recent roles include postdoctoral fellowships at Middle East Technical University and the University of Poitiers, and he currently serves as R&D personnel at Ekofly Engineering in Ankara, Türkiye. He also teaches GIS and hydrology-related subjects at Ankara and Necmettin Erbakan Universities in Türkiye.
His research portfolio includes remote sensing-based evapotranspiration modeling, agricultural water use estimation, microplastic transport in porous media, and integrated hydrogeological assessments of karst and geothermal systems. Dr. Sağır has published extensively in Q1 and Q2 journals and has presented his work at prominent international conferences. Fluent in English and French, he is an active member of several professional associations including the European Geosciences Union.
