This photo was a lot of fun.

I was born three months premature. It’s a miracle I’m alive at all. When I survived I was certainly never supposed to be able to walk, write, or be capable of thought.

True I had to work hard to prove the world wrong.

I have a wonderful family - two amazing daughters. I'm an economist. I’ve led projects across the globe. I’ve represented my country in sport and I’m Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

But that’s not why I have a twinkle in my eye!

When I was a teenager, I met a wise old fellow who lived deep in the rainforest. His job was to tend to the skulls of his ancestors. He had hundreds of them, on shelves, his Dad, his Grandfather, right back through time. There was one painted quite dramatically and I asked him whether the decoration mean't something special?

He answered, said it was an excellent question and that I’d have a very successful life.

25 years later, as I sat there, confounding a dozen people trying to get a decent shot, with studio lighting and about an inch of make-up, about to be the face of a national marketing campaign talking about the cracking job my team does managing $250 billion, I couldn’t help but wonder…

…despite the march of change was he sitting there painted, next to his Dad, being tended to by his apprentice?
