She has spent 7 years living in New Zealand and traveling the world. She also was the head manicurist at Caesars Palace, Desert Inn, and the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Although still keenly interested in real estate, Cairns didn't immediately seek licensing after relocating to Boston in 2007. Instead she went to back to school at Fisher and Harvard colleges She says those years helped sharpen her listening skills while they helped her know everything about Boston and it's history.

When Cairns' ongoing love of real estate led her to become licensed in 2011, she didn't stop with just getting a Massachusetts real estate license. She regularly invests in additional courses to sharpen her skills. And because she enjoys handling rental properties, each of her 6 professional designations was earned in gaining the extra knowledge needed to excel in listing and renting properties.
