My writing is a white water rapid. It starts out slow and steady, ideas lazy and slow coming into my mind, not much going on, just sitting back and enjoying the view. But then, an idea strikes, a good idea, and I'm off and running, plunging through the unsteady waters fast and dangerous. Ideas are pouring out of my mind and onto the page at a breakneck pace, when suddenly, all is calm. The river is peaceful once more. I've run out of ideas. The water is lazy, chugging along with hardly a bump in the ride. I have writers block, my pencil is standing still. Then, I get a second wind and inspiration hits again and another rapid engulfs me. Thoughts and concepts are like waves crashing and breaking in my mind, pulling me along down the river until the end when I've finally completed my writing after many fits and starts and now all is tranquil I've reached the end and i can finally relax and enjoy the ride.
