Caitlin Weber

Washington, DC

A Weber is a lot of things. Until recently, I thought my name last name defined itself in social sciences, weaving and possibly NBA basketball. It’s common place (let’s pretend like it is) to Google your own name these days. My first name is uncomfortably common amongst my generation and even with last name included, I have some competition for the attention of the internet. What I had apparently never done until a few days ago, was Google my last name alone, paired with ‘define’.

I’m a crater on the moon! I’m a unit of magnetic flux! A german physicist, social scientist, and basketball player.

I’m a designer raised in an era of Lisa Frank, Gecko Hawaii and Trapper Keepers and now find myself cringing at what I fear is their impending return. I have welcomed plaid back into my wardrobe with open arms and am willing to consider the re-emerging trend of neon (moderately and tastefully applied), but I draw the line at dayglow animals.

After nurturing my design degree at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, and briefly returning home to Portland Oregon, I now find myself surprisingly happy working and playing in Washington, D.C. But I’ll never stop missing the mountains. (Real mountains, people.)
