Entrepreneur and food writer Caitlin Zaino is the Co-Founder of Porter + Sail, a series of food-and-drink driven destination guides on mobile, rolling out in boutique hotels.

Caitlin has dedicated her career to zealously eating and traveling. Prior to Porter + Sail, Caitlin founded and edited the popular online food magazine, The Urban Grocer. In 2011, she created, produced, and hosted a television special based on The Urban Grocer website for the US-based network, The Cooking Channel.

She has launched several food blogs, developed and hosted a food show for Switzerland’s English-speaking radio, and worked as a chef at a top Boston restaurant (while holding down a day job at the United Nations). In between, she’s authored thousands of articles on where to find the coolest foodstuffs worldwide, including for Lonely Planet, BBC Good Food, NB Review, Lost At E Minor and BBC Travel.

Today, Caitlin scours the world’s cities on a quest to uncover the most cutting-edge eats, from the posh to the underground and the spectacular to the gritty. She pens a popular monthly column on the history of iconic foods for BBC Travel, Eatimology, while growing Porter + Sail from her perch in New York.
