Caitlyn Connolly

My name is Caitlyn, I'm a grade twelve student and I live in Alberta. I have a huge passion for photography and I've been really into it for about 2 years now. I never really categorize myself to "just" nature, I more so just think of a neat idea and plan it out before I actually take the photo. Each photo has such a complex meaning, the effort and challenges behind every project is like buying a new puppy, full of lots of surprises. I learn new things everyday.

Accustomed to being around primarily adults, I was always mature for my age. I've never really been the "smart kid" in school but I've always tried to make myself happy with my work. Photography helped with that a lot. Being able to do something to help escape all the stress of test and quizzes, maybe even a really long essay, it always seems to lift the weight of my back until I'm ready to rock it.

I’m proud to say this new role suits me. I’m driven, not only to do great things for myself, but to spur my viewers on to even greater ones. I still don’t know how to relate to kids my age in general. Despite a lifetime of often falling short of my own true potential, I've always tried my best to find something that really suits me. When I stumbled upon photography, and fell in love with it, I knew I found it.
