Caleb Minson

Caleb Minson is a Rhode Island-based filmmaker, journalist, writer, and producer whose work explores human behavior, consequence, contradiction, and what people reveal when they are placed under pressure.

He is the creator behind The Suburban Country Boy™, the personal platform connecting his filmmaking, journalism, writing, production work, and ongoing creative projects. Through Rustic Lens Cinema, Caleb develops and produces narrative and documentary work with an emphasis on character, place, realism, and emotionally grounded storytelling. His current major film project, Shelter for Bad Men, is a feature-length action drama in pre-production, set against the rural landscape of East Texas.

Caleb is also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Ocean State Chronicle™, an independent Rhode Island newsroom focused on public records, accountability, government, public safety, and reporting grounded in documented evidence and firsthand observation. His long-form writing and commentary appear through Observations, where he examines culture, institutions, human behavior, personal experience, and the tensions beneath seemingly simple stories.

Beyond his own projects, Caleb works in camera, field production, sports videography, documentary collaboration, and other freelance production roles throughout Rhode Island and New England. His production background includes years of covering high school basketball events as well as field assignments for professional media clients.

Before entering media and filmmaking, Caleb served in the United States Navy as a submarine sonar technician. After leaving the Navy, he studied Digital Media Production at New England Institute of Technology and later completed additional film and video education through Full Sail University.

Music, photography, visual art, writing, journalism, and filmmaking have all been part of Caleb's creative life, but today they converge around a single interest: stories about humanity under pressure—the moments when appearances fall away and something more honest is revealed underneath.
