Navada City,CA,US
The California College of Ayurveda (CCA) in Nevada City, California, was the first school of Ayurvedic medicine established outside of India. The California College of Ayurveda provides numerous educational resources for students of Holistic Heath. A collection of articles on Ayurveda, written by the college's instructors, as well as student research papers, are available online. They feature topics such as “The Five Elements in Ayurvedic Medicine” and “Important Herbs in Ayurvedic Medicine,” which covers such herbs as ginger, guduchi, and triphala as subtopics. The website also offers a comprehensive directory of Ayurvedic healing centers and offices from coast to coast, including dozens of practitioners, which is a helpful tool for individuals seeking to learn more about Ayurveda or to receive treatment in their local area.
The California College of Ayurveda was founded in 1995 by Dr. Marc Halpern, a recognized leader in the field, who serves on the advisory board for the Light on Ayurveda Journal and the Journal of Research and Education in Indian Medicine. His latest publication, Healing Your Life: Lessons on the Path of Ayurveda, is available for purchase in the CCA website store, along with several CDs, DVDs, and class recordings. The CCA is a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association.
