California Waste Solutions (CWS) is a recycling and environmental services company based in Oakland, California, serving communities across the Bay Area, including Oakland and San José. Founded in 1992, the company specializes in residential and commercial recycling, waste collection, and advanced material recovery operations.

With roots in the Vietnamese American community, CWS was established by the Duong family, who built the company from a small recycling operation into a long-standing regional provider of environmental services. Today, CWS supports California’s sustainability objectives by managing recycling programs, operating material recovery facilities, and helping reduce landfill waste through responsible processing and public education.

CWS is also the parent company of Vietnam Waste Solutions (VWS), an environmental infrastructure provider in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Through VWS, the organization contributes to large-scale municipal waste management projects and environmental modernization efforts.
