The importance of offering mobile windshield repair service
The California Windshield Technicians Association (CWTA) is urging its members to offer mobile windshield repair service if they have not yet offered such service. CWTA President Luke Davidson says such service may entail additional capital expenditure, say for a service vehicle plus equipment, but it sure will be worth the investment.
“Knowing that you can help them as soon as possible, wherever they are, helps them keep your contact information, and more importantly refer you to their friends,” Davidson explains. Safe Windshields
Most windshield repair technicians offer in-shop service, or same-day service for cracks and chips, and even for replacement, but Davidson says replacement is a different matter altogether. “Replacements cannot wait. It holds a safety risk to all the passengers in the vehicle, it affects vehicle security too. Giving them the option to call for an urgent mobile windshield replacement is basically going the extra mile,” Davidson adds.
From the customer’s perspective, why is it important to seek mobile windshield repair services? Here’s what the CWTA has to say:
1. Windshield cracks, especially when relatively huge can cause a windshield to shatter anytime. A bump in the road, a strong wind, or heavy exposure to sunlight can all cause it to give in. Calling for repair is the best option to avoid accidents like this.
2. It is always cheaper to call for urgent mobile repair service in relation to cracks, than have the whole windshield replaced, especially if this will be done out of pocket. National Windshield Repair Association
3. It is more convenient. Imagine having help arrive an hour from the time you called up? This presents the least hassle compared to having to bring the car to the shop and waiting for it to be serviced, or worse coming back for it after a few hours or even days.
4. It gives you peace of mind. Having your windshield repaired as soon as possible gives you the peace of mind that your car would not end up being robbed by a burglar. Temporary windshields or plastic covers on windows cannot deter criminal activity at all, in fact it encourages it.
5. It protects your car from a more serious damage, and it protects as well from elements such as the rain. Urgent repair will stop rainwater or insects from getting inside your car.
