`I was diagnosed with bipolar illness 17 years ago. I have had the same psychiatrist for 15 of those years. At first, I refused to admit that the diagnosis was true. That was a stormy time, and my life was very rocky. I put my loved ones through a lot of trials that could have been avoided if I would have listened to my doctor and accepted my diagnosis. Once I did and I took care of myself accordingly, my life took a 360 degree turn. My life is beautiful now. But, I wouldn't give up the trials that I went through because of my bipolar illness that brought me to this point in my life. Those trials and lessons I learned from them are priceless.
