Editor in Portland, Oregon
After nearly a decade in production editorial at publishers Penguin Group and Random House, I traded New York's subways for the bike lanes of Portland, where I now freelance copyedit and proofread full-time.
In the past five years I have been hired as the copyeditor or a proofreader on more than 500 books for clients that include Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster. Among the books I've copyedited or proofread are a National Book Award finalist, a Hugo Award winner, two Top 10 Books of the Year, and several instant #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestsellers.
I've also served as the production editor for the book publishing division of two different media studios. For eight issues, I directed the copyediting staff of HOWLER magazine.
Other clients include independent authors, who hired me to copyedit, proofread, or line edit their books as they readied them for publication. You can find author testimonials here.
I'm also the cocreator of CoverSpy, and ten years later, my team of spies is still delivering daily updates on what people are reading in the subways, streets, parks, and bars of New York. (And in other cities around the world.)
Say hello! Let's work together.
