Hi, I'm Callie — a recent journalism graduate from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn.
Currently, I am an editorial assistant for MSP-C in Minneapolis, which produces magazines and digital content for organizations such as Delta Sky Magazine. I focus heavily on fact-checking, researching, and writing for various publications.
Last summer, I interned at Naples Daily News in Southwest Florida covering breaking news while working on larger stories such as Canadian snowbirds boycotting U.S. goods and Florida visits, which got picked up by multiple other USA Today networks.
I interned at the St. Paul Pioneer Press spring of 2018, where my final project story about Crisis Connection — the only accredited National Suicide Prevention Lifeline crisis center in Minnesota at risk of shutting down due to lack of funding — prompted multitudes of donations in addition to a response from Gov. Mark Dayton, urging legislators to provide funding for the crisis center.
Before that, I interned at Shakopee Valley News and covered stories ranging from unaffordable housing in Shakopee to animal rights activists protesting an extreme race of ostriches and zebras at Canterbury Park.
I served as news editor from 2017-2018 of my university paper, The Clarion, and covered everything from Snoop Dogg dropping his gospel album at Bethel to a lack of safe spaces for LGBTQ members and non-Christians.
I grew up in South St. Paul, Minn. — a small suburb about 10 minutes south of downtown St. Paul.
In my free time, I love making music and spending time outdoors– preferably with my close friends or family.
