Gerald C. Calliste Jr, (professionally known as Jerry Calliste Jr.) born and raised in Bronx, New York and Inwood/Washington Heights section in upper Manhattan, is a proven leader, lateral thinker, angel investor, C-suite executive and management consultant. In 1981, while in high school, Calliste Jr. started his entrepreneur career. By 1982 he promoted a successful old school hip hop event in upper Manhattan. The next year he co-founded and served as Vice President for start up Cutting Records Inc. Cutting Records quickly became a trendsetting and popular independent record label and music publisher. He was also the labels first songwriter and recording artist and is responsible for creating the seminal Electro Hip Hop music classic and definitive Electro song “Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)” (See: “Al-Naafiysh” The Soul” by Hashim). For over 33 years Calliste Jr. recruited successful business teams, developed and partnered music companies and in the recorded music business sold an estimated 5.0 million units, generating an estimated $25 million in global sales and in events management grew sales at venues by 350%. His peers say he’s “an authority on music marketing, licensing, and independent talent development.” and “…a natural at identifying new trends and opportunities related to start ups and strategic business.”

Calliste Jr. studied dual majors in Information Technology & Management Information Sciences at the Ross School of Management and Leadership at Franklin University where he maintained an average 3.75 GPA. He’s fluent in English, speaks some Spanish, and is learning Arabic, French and Mandarin Chinese.

Since 2011 he is chief operating officer & President at cloud computing and media streaming start up Simplestreamtech.com. In 2009 he’s managing director, entertainment manager and small business consultant at Callistecomm.com. Since 2001 he serves as chairman & chief executive officer at Bassmint Music Inc. an independent music company and music publisher. Since 2006 he’s a volunteer panelist on the Economist Intelligence Unit Opinions Leaders Panel at Economist.com.

In 2008 – ’10, served as special adviser at not-for-profit Stargazer.org. In 2007 was invited by a New York City attorney and participated as a volunteer on then Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s finance committee Primary for President.
