Joel Loughrin

Hello, my name is Joel Loughrin (lok-rin). I am currently working as a Project Manager at American Tank & Fabricating in Cleveland OH.

When I began working at AT&F 5 years ago I was working for a temp agency and I was only scheduled to work at this company for 3 days doing data entry. I put a lot of effort into being efficient and I completed the task in a day and a half. They found more work for me to do and I excelled at everything that was given to me. 3 months into the job I was hired on full time; they weren't sure exactly what they would have me do, but they knew that I could learn and eventually I became a Project Administrator and continued to work my way up to the role of Project Manager.

During that time I purchased several books and taught myself how to use Microsoft Access to create databases, and then taught myself VBA to further improve them. Since then I have developed several Microsoft Access databases from the ground up which help run AT&F in many different ways. These have really changed the way that we do business.

I enjoy finding new and innovative ways to increase productivity and eliminate waste. I currently manage 7 databases that range from Human Resources to Welding Engineering and everything in between in addition to my normal duties of Project Manager.

I am in the process of finishing my degree at Baldwin Wallace University where I am dual majoring in Business Administration and Marketing. I am scheduled to complete my bachelor's degrees in 2014.

I do a lot of reading outside of class. I love books that I can learn from and that will cause me to think about things in new ways.

I am always looking for new challenges and new ways to expand my horizons.
