I have always been a grower, even as a special education teacher I was a grower.
It all started with my father in our back yard. It was the first time since early childhood that I had him all to myself. In the garden, we worked together. Otherwise, the unending work of a General Contractor. or baseball, sometimes football, and he just wasn't there for me. Sometimes the TV won. Now these days, the first thing in the morning, you race down to see what seeds may have developed overnight. This is one of life's greatest thrills for me. To watch these infants develop from seed to useful plants. This means humans too, which may be why I broke from my growing career and turned to special education to continue my life with that kind of meaning, and now I'm back once more. Perhaps for both.
