Calvin Chua
Architect and Urban Strategist in Singapore
Calvin Chua is the founder of Spatial Anatomy, a strategic design practice working across culture, scales, and geographies, with an interest in urban adaptation and transformation.
The firm has developed regeneration masterplans in Southeast Asia, activated a heritage district through an architectural festival in Singapore, developed adaptive reuse framework for ageing malls and is noted for its non-profit engagement work on the Korean peninsula.
In parallel, Calvin serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, leading studios on transforming urban peripheries in Asia. He was previously a Visiting Professor at Korea National University of Arts.
Recognised for his unique approach towards design practice and social causes, Calvin is an Asia 21 Next Gen Fellow, global finalist for the Lisbon Triennale Debut Award.
Prior to founding his practice, Calvin worked with leading architecture and planning firms in Europe and consulted for the ADB.
A registered architect in the UK, Calvin graduated from the Architectural Association School of Architecture.
