Languages and Communication in Miami, Estados Unidos
Originally Castilian (from Burgos, Spain) but with a Cuban soul since I have lived in Miami for 7 years.
I studied Romance Philology at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and I hold a PhD from the University of Miami, where I specialized in Latin American literature and press.
I have worked as a freelance translator and journalist and as a college professor for the past 16 years.
In the communications chapter, I worked as a journalist for Revista De Norte a Sur, I was community manager for Universo Vivo and Dircom for Diverbo - Pueblo Inglés. I also created the hyperlocal digital journal Aquí Tetuán.
As a professor, I have taught English and Spanish language and literature, Translation, Journalism and Social Media in both Spanish and American universities - University of Miami, Christopher Newport University, Saint Louis University, Carlos III University, University Camilo José Cela, Barry University and Universidad Isabel I de Castilla.
I have developed my research in Literature Cultural Studies and the Digital Civic Societ, about which I have published several scholarly articles. I am more and more engaged in E-learning.
I am the authour of Buena Vista Social Blog, a book about the Cuban blogging phenomenon, and Tetuán, a book on the history of this Madrilenian neighborhood. Literature and history are my biggest passions.
