Cameron Carrus

In 2009, after graduating from Naperville North High School, Cameron Carrus enrolled at Lawrence University, located in Appleton, Wisconsin. Currently, Mr. Carrus is pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in English and Music, and he plays bass in a number of different groups to hone his skills as a musician. As a member of the Lawrence University Jazz Combo III, Cameron Carrus joins this traditional and contemporary group to perform songs such as "Lotus Blossom," "The Egyptian," "Lively Up Yourself," and "Just Friends." Along with a trumpet player, saxophonist, drummer, pianist, trombonist, and guitarist, Mr. Carrus has performed at the Red & White wine bar in Appleton and other local venues. In addition, he plays with the Lawrence University Jazz Ensemble, which recently performed at The Trout Museum of Art, also located in Appleton. Cameron Carrus joins with other fellow musicians in the cover band Mike Pope and the Papal Schism. Together, they perform popular songs from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, and The Temptations at various venues and on campus, and recently appeared at a charity event to benefit a local shelter. As a member of the group The Debutantes, Cameron Carrus performs mellow rock and folk tunes, including original songs such as "Kitten in the Sun," "Friends in Foreign Places," "Headlights and Taillights," and "Humiliation." The band has played at the Copper Rock Coffee Company in Appleton and the Warch Campus Center, where they performed for an Earth Day concert. Cameron Carrus and The Debutantes also headline at the Lawrence University Viking Room, the school’s popular musical hotspot. Cameron Carrus also plays with the Dilla Gents, a hip-hop cover band that performs many of J Dilla’s tunes, including "Starz," "Donuts Outro," "Timeless," and "Mythsizer." The group has performed at the Viking Room on numerous occasions.
