Writer by trade and vocation.

With experience as a journalist and communications professional, my stories have appeared on the AP newswire, online and in magazines, brochures, books and journals.

I trained at a liberal arts college in my home state of Michigan; there, I studied literature, theatre, history and politics. I also have an MA (MSc) in Creative Writing from the University of Edinburgh, which I received in 2012 with distinction.

With a background as a reporter and magazine editor, as well as time spent in book publishing, I'm currently pitching my first novel in addition to taking on writing and consulting work. This includes everything from helping organisations craft and communicate their message to writing feature articles, online copy and press materials.

Clients include Whitespace - a digital marketing agency in Edinburgh - as well as the University of Edinburgh, Waverley Care and a seven million-member non-profit in the US.

I'm convinced that imagination + critical thinking + writing ability + a broad knowledge base make for a rare and powerful cocktail. On my best days, I bring most of these traits to bear. I've also lived and worked in the US, West Africa and the UK, and am able to offer clients a global perspective as they seek to connect with diverse audiences.
