Cameron Dickie is the Managing Director of Dickies Tree Service, one of Western Australia's oldest and most established arboriculture and tree services companies. With more than 23 years of hands-on industry experience, Cameron brings a rare combination of practical field expertise and commercial leadership to a business that has been serving Perth for more than 40 years.

Cameron's connection to the industry started early. His father, Gary Dickie, founded Dickies Tree Service in the early 1980s after moving to Perth from country Victoria, building the business on hard work, honesty and a reputation for reliability — growing it from a one-man operation into a respected name across Perth's northern suburbs and greater metropolitan area. Cameron began working as a groundsman during school holidays from Year 10, and after completing Year 12 at St Stephens Duncraig, joined the company full-time. Over the following years, he earned his qualifications in chainsaw operation, elevated work platform (EWP) operation, Western Power line clearance and tree felling, progressing from groundsperson to EWP cutter to crew leader. By age 21, he was running his own crew of three to five people.

In his early twenties, Cameron made the deliberate decision to leave the family business and join Active Trees, a major national vegetation management company, with the goal of developing the operational and management skills he would eventually bring back to Dickies. Starting as a supervisor, he was promoted to lead supervisor within 12 months, working closely with operations managers and stepping into junior operations management responsibilities. He returned to Dickies in his late twenties as operations manager, and has since transformed the business — lifting standards across safety, service delivery, quoting, client management and team development. In 2021, he completed a 12-month Business Owners Growth Program (formerly affiliated with Curtin University) to further strengthen his commercial and strategic capabilities.

Today, Cameron leads a team of more than 40 qualified arborists, Western Power-qualified cutters, EWP operators and support staff, delivering tree removal, pruning, vegetation management, risk assessment, emergency response and power line clearance across the Perth metropolitan area. He oversees business development, key account management, budgets, pricing and marketing, and manages the company's portfolio of long-standing contracts with organisations including the Department of Parks and Wildlife, Water Corporation, City of Stirling, City of Vincent, the University of Western Australia, Murdoch University, Curtin University and several of Perth's leading private schools.

Dickies Tree Service has been recognised as one of Perth's Three Best Rated tree services, scoring 115 out of 120 on a rigorous 50-point inspection. The business holds a 4.6-star rating across more than 190 Google reviews. Cameron remains committed to responsible, best-practice arboriculture and to evolving the business while upholding the hard work, reliability and integrity it was built on.
