I am currently a Social Media Engagement and Content Specialist at FNB, within FNB Brand Management. My role as Social Media Specialist at FNB (and previously at ABSA) has evolved quite significantly so since having joined FNB and my experience here has taught me much about social media communities, social media as a communications channel, and the psychology that drives these communities.

My working experience includes strong online content marketing and search engine optimisation as well as a proven track record in community management, social media management and social media crisis management.

I have been fortunate enough to play an integral role in growing the FNB Social Media Communities into some of the largest independently managed communities in South Africa, with specific emphasis on the FNB SA Facebook page, which at the time of joining FNB in September 2011 with a fanbase of 16 717 has grown to a portly 417 000 fans (as at September 2013).

Not only have I enjoyed the growth of the FNB SA Facebook fan base, but so too the significant growth experiences of the @RBJaocbs Twitter following, from 4 207, with an average number of 9 000 conversations occurring with FNB in September 2011 to currently a following of over 31 000 and an average of 15 000 conversations per month (as at September 2013).

FNB has offered me the suppleness required to take advantage of the innovative temperament that underpins the FNB brand and spill this into compelling engagement that has enthused communities to build an attachment to the brand and products associated to the brand.
Over and above my experience in social media I have also spent the past six (6) years specialising in online communication and analysing conversational trends threading dialogue across Social Media Marketing, Social Networking and Search Engine Optimisation.

By tapping into various means of Social Media Marketing, Search Engine Optimisation and web based communication styles, I have uncovered a netted new world of user interaction, content generation and audience sharing that allows me to flex my delight in creative online engagement.
