Cam is 27 years old, husband, father, and resident of Pontiac. As recently as 2007, he was a vehement atheist, angry with God and the world for the perceived injustices he saw, both personal and at large. In his own words, he “carried tons of baggage – unforgiveness, bitterness, and contempt, not to mention egregious sins against self, family and friends. From ninth grade on, when I looked in the mirror and saw my reflection, I was continually disappointed and confused with who I was.” Cam thanks God that He saw much more in that reflection than Cam did. He restored Cam from addiction, covered him with grace, gave him fresh purpose, and helped him to battle against the pride and arrogance he used as a crutch since youth. The transformation he has undergone is astounding to him and those who have known him, and he have God to thank for the gentle way in which God has brought his life into his marvelous light. Now, he is privileged to be on Oakland University’s campus, the school he entered as an atheist in 2005 looking for an escape from youth, only this time it is to establish a ministry to bring more kingdom workers to campus. God has returned him to be a light to others, using his Oakland County upbringing, youth ministry experience, and gifts to invite others into His life changing mercy and grace.
