and clinical -based focus as she works on patient goals. Candace’s healing, soothing touch helps patients feel relaxed and reassured as they reach personal goals together. Her diverse skill-set includes relaxation focus massage, rehabilitation and recovery, as well as a maintenance approach, depending on patient goals.
When Candace is not in her treatment room, you will find her discussing big ideas, rambling thoughts, her new favourite wine, or perhaps on a yoga mat, teaching yoga anatomy; nerding out with the nervous system because it is the best show in town.
Candace is also an anatomy educator and a long-time practitioner of yoga and meditation, who brings her science background to yoga. Her focus is to bring an evidence-based approach to asana as she brings her pursuit of life-long learning and knowledge of the human body to teach how asana impacts the body systems.
After receiving her HBSc in Biology; her independent study was the biology of stress, studying Dr. Gabor Maté and Dr. Robert Sapolsky. She has also completed her Advanced Diploma in Biotechnology.
Candace also has completed The Way of the Shaman: Shamanic Journeying, Power and Healing, The Basic Workshop in Core Shamanism® and has Reiki Level Two. Her yoga experience is deeply rooted in energetic healing and will be able to perform an energetic assessment, including chakra evaluation, current stage of chakra development, specific areas of focus and a plan for development and change.
When you come to learn yoga anatomy with Candace, you'll be able to better understand the principles of alignment and the body's connection with asana. Candace focuses on an evidence-based practice that connects mind, body and breath. Get ready for a deeper understanding of the impact an asana practice will have on human physiology and supporting homeostasis in the body.
