王璨|Can Wang (/‘tsan-‘wɔŋ/) is a multi-faceted dance artist who performs, creates and collaborates. She is of Chinese origin and influenced by both contemporary and classical dance, and Western and Eastern culture. She has been a company dancer at Buglisi Dance Theatre, and has performed works by Stephanie Batten-Bland, Roy Assaf, Andrea Miller, Dafi Altabeb, Nacho Duato, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Jose Limon among others. She is a prizewinner of the 2012 Chinese Lotus Dance Competition and was invited to tour with the National Ballet of China as a guest artist.

As an interdisciplinary artist and collaborator, Can as worked with internationally acclaimed theatre directors, visual artists, and art organizations including Sommer Ulrickson, Alexander Polzin, Tagore Gonzalez, Chen Dongfan, CreArtBox, The Moving Orchestra among others. Their works has performed at 92nd St. Y, Plaxall Gallery, The Tank among others.

As a choreographer, Can’s works such as Moments Reassembled, Porous Inhabitant, YAMA, Passenger, Meant to Fly, have been invited to perform both virtually and in-person at The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance(USA), Dumbo Dance Festival(USA), National Sawdust(USA), Arko Arts Theatre(South Korea), Beijing Dance Festival(China) among others. Her solo work The Power of Waiting has been selected to perform at the International Contemporary Dance Festival in Mexico in 2022.

As a teaching artist, Can has been offering Ballet classes and coaching ballet repertories since 2010, and has been offering Modern/Contemporary dance classes and rehearsing dance solos since 2012. She has been teaching students of all ages in both China and the US. She has been a guest faculty at University of the Arts, and is currently teaching at Philly Dance Fitness.

Can started her ballet training at the Affiliated School of Beijing Dance Academy at the age of ten, going on to study modern dance at Beijing Dance Academy in 2013. She completed training in Contemporary Dance at Unitec Institute of Technology in New Zealand prior to studying at The Juilliard School Dance Division in 2015. Upon graduation from Juilliard, she was awarded 2019 Juilliard Career Advancement Fellowship as one of ten recipients. Can joined the MFA Dance program of The University of The Arts in 2020, and has awarded International Student Leadership Award upon graduation in August 2021.
