Sports have always played an influential part of my live. Growing up, I would sign up for as many teams as I could, just to play the sport and see if I liked it. Baseball was a personal favorite of mine, because I thankfully loved the coach that I had in tee-ball. One of my favorite aspects about baseball was the friendships made while just horsing around. Some of my really good friends to this day came from baseball. My dad had also played baseball frequently around my age, so he took any opportunity to coach me or teach me something new. Looking back, I hated the coaching, but the bonding time was amazing. Baseball was exciting, but there were frequently and long breaks in the action, which is why I think I moved sports in high school. In my high school years, it was cross country that played another influential part of my live. I did not like running in the practices, but I love a good competition, and the cross-country meets were as competitive as they got. While running in the meets, you would get pushed to your breaking point and you would have to keep running. This especially came into play on my favorite part of the race, the ending. It was a mad dash to the finish and everyone was exhausted, but everyone was sprinting. These two sports played major roles in my life and they can provide a glimpse into my competitive personality.
