Born in Triana (Seville, Spain), Jose Miguel is a documentary producer and director since 1988.
With a strong interest in anthropology, adventure and science, he has dedicated himself to the world of documentary for more than 20 years, thus defining his career as a documentarian.
He is a tireless traveler and survival expert. He has made over 30 documentaries around the whole world, living together with numerous indigenous ethnic groups such as Pygmies, Masai, Bushmen, Punan, Lacandon, Inuit and Lapps.
His documentaries have taken him through untamed lands, deserts and jungles. He's crossed the mythical Cape Horn and the two polar circles: the Arctic and Antarctic. He has even flown with a C-130 propeller plane into the eye of a hurricane.
He works with different channels and international broadcasters, such as Canal Sur, Mezzo, AXN, Discovery Channel…. And for the past five years, he has been directing documentaries for National Geographic Channel. These programs are broadcasted worldwide in 160 countries with 35 different languages.
