Marta is a conservatoire trained Jazz/Brazilian and Contemporary singer with a powerful and exquisite voice. Whether readily combining her jazz grounded vocal style together with contemporary music, or serving up a broad range of diverse styles; from Afro/Portugese songs to Classic Jazz songs, the listener is left simply breathless.

Marta's delicious tones are reminicent of time gone too soon. Uniquely performing with such natural primal expression, she takes hold of any song, (be it an original or a standard), and

turns it inside out with such beauty.

She is a contemporary artist that is a vocal power house, Not satisfied with just that Marta is also a composer and musical director, who creates mature songs that are delivered with a strong vocal style.

It is no surprise that although Marta is a relative newcomer to the UK, her talent is proceeding her. She can be heard around London town performing with established and highly recognised musicians from a multitude of genres. Musicians such as Robin Banerjee (Amy Winehouse's guitarist), the very exciting Phillip Achille (Lionel Richie), and recently she joined Femi Temowo (Amy Winehouse, Soweto Kinch, Courtney Pine, The Roots, George Benson ) as a guest vocalist at Ronnie Scott's Main Room for 'The Late Night Session. Together with guest drummer Ernesto Simpson (Herbie Hancock) They blew the roof off!

To hear one of Marta's recordings is one thing, but to experience Marta live is another. When she is moved by a song, especially her own compositions, you are left in no doubt that here is a direct funnel for the spirit through music and sound.
