I started singing professionally at the age of 18 as a member of a girl band called Desire in a local Belfast club. Since then I have been a part of several acts (including Fusion) on the successful cover band circuit, playing clubs and bars in the north and south of Ireland and the north of England. While growing up in Belfast I admired and tried to emulate the vocal style of artists such as Mariah and Whitney and enjoyed the commotion and excitement of both the local and international dance music scenes. Although largely self taught, I have had some training from vocal coaches at points throughout my career to help with breathing techniques etc for singing live. Working in cover bands has helped me to remain versatile as a performer with a repertoire ranging from Dolly Parton and Tina turner to Rhianna and Nicki Minaj or Candi Staton and yet also enabled me to develop a vocal and visual style of my own. Attempting to capitalise on the post Spice Girl pop landscape, as part of Desire, I released several singles with some local success including a cover of Ride On (originally by Christy Moore) which reached number 2 on the Energy 106 dance chart. My most recent releases, in the last year, have been an original composition with dance producers Salamander Sun which led to me recording another original track 'The Adventures of a Teenage Go Go Dancer' with Bethnal Green based indie band 'Resigned' which has proved popular on London based station Radio Caroline. My next release 'Purgatory' which i co wrote with Chris Connolly, co founder of SnafuDigital, is out on 1 October 2013 (remixed by Darryl Campbell and Walsh & McAuley).
