Whitney B. Reiter grew up in Miami, Florida, and spent the first part of his adult life building a career on the water. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida and holds a USCG 1600/3000 Ton All Oceans Master license. Captain Whitney Reiter has worked in professional maritime for over 22 years, commanding yachts ranging from 100 to 204 feet across the Atlantic, Mediterranean, Caribbean, Bahamas, New England, and Central America.
His career includes captain positions on M/Y Samadhi, a 200-foot Feadship; M/Y Positive Carry, a 204-foot Feadship; M/Y Omaha, a 164-foot Heesen; and M/Y Themis, a 156-foot Trinity, among others. He has completed two trans-Atlantic crossings, navigated the Corinth Canal, and passed multiple Lloyds and Cayman flag surveys. He is proficient in Spanish and has managed annual budgets of up to four million dollars across several captain roles.
Reiter currently serves as Property Manager and Captain at United Capital Markets, overseeing five vessels, eight jet skis, six efoils, and 16 staff and crew across properties in the Bahamas and Key Biscayne. Outside of maritime work, he pursues offshore fishing and spearfishing, has competed in more than ten sailfish, marlin, and dolphin tournaments, and trains for Hyrox competitions with his daughter. He also hunts, plays pickleball and tennis, and is actively competing in fitness events.
