Hello, I'm Cara; content specialist, wife, and mom to a gorgeous (feisty!) toddler girl.

My story goes a bit like this:

After finishing school in Durbanville, Cape Town, I attended Rhodes University in Grahamstown. In 2003, I graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism (4-year degree) and a lust for life.

On belly-flopping into the working world like most graduates do, I found myself at a UK-based software development company, getting knee-deep in the launch of their new visual browser. It was a terrific start to my career, with many lessons learnt, but not for keeps.

So I moved on to an online publisher as editor for their three websites – and that's when my love affair with content really started. I'd write, edit, manage, upload, moderate and be the general go-to girl for anything language related too.

From there, I got more and more into the online side of things, dabbling in copywriting, journalism, content strategy and management for a variety of industries – FMCG, weddings, travel, health, finance, insurance and group buying to name a few. Most recently (and currently), I'm finding new words around fleet and mobile asset management solutions delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS) to customers in over 120 countries around the world.

Having tried it all, I'm proud to be a well-rounded content champion, plain language fan, organiser extraordinaire and people person.
