I have always been interested in beauty therapy ever since I can remember. I was lucky enough to start working part time in a salon at the age of 14 and it was there that I began learning about beauty therapy, treatments and how to run a salon. In the salon I was fortunate enough to work with the owner, learning practically and theoretically, with hands on experience. It was from there that I decided that I wanted to go on a training course with the company “Jessica” who specialise in manicures and pedicures. Since qualifying with Jessica
I have been able to do mobile treatments at my clients homes. I feel that when I bring the service to my clients house, it makes them feel more relaxed and they are able to enjoy the treatment more. When I was working in the salon I was so aware of clients rushing in, and then straight after the treatment having to rush back out again, which doesn’t make the most of the treatment. With the way I offer treatment at home it feels more beneficial for the client as you are able to relax, not worry about the parking, children etc.
After qualifying in this area of beauty, I realised that I wanted to learn more and get more experience within the beauty trade. I went on to Hereford Technical College for 2 years, to gain my Level 2 in Beauty Therapy qualification. I enjoyed every minute at college – I was lucky to be able to meet, work and learn with girls who were interested in the same career path as me.
Since completing the training at college, I am qualified in all areas of Beauty Therapy – manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing, tinting, perming, hope ear candles, giving make-up lessons, wedding make up and tanning.
I am always looking for more courses that I am able to go on and extend my qualification and experience.
