Stephanie Cardella

Stephanie Cardella proudly serves as Director of School Improvement & Innovation at North Shore School District 112 where she enjoys living in perpetual beta, asking questions and thinking big. In this capacity, Stephanie develops curriculum, leads professional development and supports teachers in intentional instruction that is innovative and engaging. She has presented and facilitated workshops at the local, state and national level focusing on teaching for understanding, Common Core State Standards, differentiation, technology integration, and Google Apps for Education. Stephanie’s recent work includes a 1:1 Chromebook initiative, K-2 personalized learning MyPath model, embedding design thinking into professional development and redesigning curriculum around big ideas and essential questions.

Stephanie spent the first ten years of her career in an elementary classroom bursting with children’s books and opportunities to question, play and wonder. In 2010, she joined the Department of Teaching and Learning as a Curriculum Coordinator specializing in English Language Arts, Gifted & Enrichment, Reading Development, Visual Arts, General and Instrumental Music and Library Media Arts. Stephanie earned a Master's Degree from Argosy University in Educational Leadership and from National Louis University in Language & Literacy. She attended DePaul University for undergrad majoring in elementary education.
