Carl Hensley

San Diego, Calif.

Carl is a fourth-year journalism student at San Diego State University and has written for SDSU's newspaper, The Daily Aztec, as well as hosted a weekly talk show at SDSU on KCR College Radio.

As a news writer for the Daily Aztec, Carl was assigned to cover the California State University system as his beat. He has also extensively covered the Port of San Diego and has interviewed many stakeholders in the San Diego region and the CSU system. Whether he covered the budget crisis within the CSU system or the constant developments throughout the Port District in San Diego, Carl has always wanted to tell the story that was not being told.

Born and raised in San Diego, Calif., Carl has grown to love his hometown and the news happening in it. He lives in San Diego with his family and his dog.

Currently, he is a freelance Associate Producer at Fox 5 San Diego and focuses on producing quality content for the morning newscasts.

Carl is fascinated with reporting and telling the stories of those who cant speak for themselves. He aspires to be a broadcast and multimedia journalist.

Besides reporting, Carl enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures. He has traveled throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada and Europe. He speaks Italian and is a classically trained musician. One of his favorite things to do is cook and entertain friends and family. He loves sports and is a loyal Aztecs fan.

Carl is willing to relocate for work.
