Carla Elena Echeveste

Student in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin

I hold a Bachelors in Accounting with two minors in Mathematics and Spanish, Language, and Cultures from Alverno College with experience as a former audit/Big Four entity. After graduation, I made a transition into the sciences and I am now a third-year post-baccalaureate premedical studies student who has completed the prerequisites for entrance into medical school. Currently I am available for healthcare consulting, analyst, and healthcare and tax accounting opportunities.

I am highly involved in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) awareness and aggressive recruitment and retention for the advancement of minority interests into the field of medicine or business ventures.

My previous research experience is in cognitive neuroscience utilizing fMRI imaging at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I have completed intensive breast cancer research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health as a Rural and Urban Scholar in Community Health under the direct mentorship of a published biomedical engineering researcher and medical oncologist. Most recently, I presented my cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin with goals of implementing the findings into Southeastern Wisconsin.
