Carla Grobler a 20 year old third year student at the University of Johannesburg. Born and grew up in Krugersdorp. Graduated from High School Monument in 2012. Currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Education majoring in Psychology. Stay on APK Campus- Benjimijn Ladies Residence. Assist first years in Residence by assisting them as an academic adviser with various subjects. Joined the Department of Education at UJ in 2015 and tutor a first year module English for teaching and learning. Prior working experience includes tutoring high school learners, assists a learner in home schooling and worked at an aftercare center. Future academic goals include to study further and complete an honors degree in Psychology. Personal characteristics include being positive about every aspect of life, a passion and interest for Education. Personal vision for teaching is to touch hearts, minds and guide and create learners to be creative and literate to change the society and their lives positively. Future career path in Education include working at a school for learners with special needs as a Life Orientation Teacher or as a Child Psychologist, who assist and help learners to develop to their full potential using own life experiences, challenges and lessons. A career in Education opens many doors for a person because you build yourself stronger and more knowledgeable everyday. Other personal features contain being an independent career woman, who is strong willed, brave to face life’s challenges, self- disciplined, soft hearted and always willing to help others. Being open minded and living a balanced life would inspire many learners on achieving and living a fulfilled life. The world of Education changed my character positively and continuously guides me in being a future Life Orientation teacher or Psychologist that will be able to touch others life’s and makes a change in the rapid changing society.
