Teacher in Guelph

Hey there, I’m Carla, my preferred pronouns are she/her. I completed my Bachelor of Arts and Science at the University of Guelph focusing on Visual Arts, Biology and Social Psychology. While I completed my Bachelors of Education at Brock University, my heart remained in Guelph and I have been a teacher with the UGDSB for 8 years. My partner and I love living in the country. I enjoy the arts, yoga in my garden and hiking through the many trails.

I have completed my P/J Mathematics Specialist (all through Queen’s University) as well as the Special Education Part 1 course. Helping raise two step-sons with special needs has given me a parental perspective when teaching students with special needs. While I have had experience teaching an MID Classroom at a rural school for 3 years, I have recently transitioned to a planning teacher in Guelph, covering many classes including Kindergarten and Living Skills. It is a busy but very rewarding experience. I especially love being able to get to know every child in the school and watching them learn and grow over the years!
